Paris Open Source Summit, the first European Free and Open source event, is the product of two emblematic events in this domain, the Solutions Linux event and the Open World Forum.
The European Commission is organising a session on “Sharing and Reuse: open, efficient and innovative public services” in Paris on 6 December 2017. Its aim is to highlight and discuss some of the best practices in sharing and reuse of IT solutions across the EU. The event, held in English and French, will be part of the Paris Open Source Summit.
The session will start with, Georges Lobo from the European Commission’s Interoperability Unit introducing the Sharing and Reuse Framework for IT Solutions. This document, published in April 2017, provides ten generic and twenty eight detailed recommendations on how to reuse, share or jointly develop IT solutions that meet common requirements and improve the interoperability of IT systems and services to increase quality and efficiency of public services.
Next, Stefano Gentile from the Joint Research Center’s Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Unit will present interesting features of the new version of the European Union Public Licence (EUPL 1.2) and the benefits of using it by public administrations.
